Join us this 2025! Our first Climate Designers Milan event is coming soon, on January 16th.

Our guest speakers, designers Gabriele Tempesta and Luca Alessandrini, will share their expertise and passion for major climate and design landscape topics: Ecodesign and Industrial Symbiosis.

OUR AGENDA:

WELCOMING

  • Climate Designers Milan team
  • Maize | Jakala team

TALKS

  • ECODESIGN: how to do it right and prepare for the latest EU regulation.

Speaker: Gabriele Tempesta | Sustainable Design Consultant & Trainer, PhD Student in Design

Overview: "In July 2024, the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) came into force, recognizing the key role of designers in driving sustainable development—although with a "slight" delay of over 25 years, given that eco-design has been around since the late '90s. Now, with time already against us, and as we drown in extreme events, new jargon, and overnight 'circularity experts,' it's essential to cut through the noise and learn how to do ecodesign the right way."

  • SYMBIOTIC MATERIALS: Merging the fields of design and industrial symbiosis.

Speaker: Luca Alessandrini| Aware design strategist, Materials and Industrial Symbiosis Passionate

Overview: "Designers hold the power to transform waste into opportunity, bridging creativity and industry to upcycle materials and drive the shift toward a sustainable, circular future. To achieve this, new tools, frameworks, and imaginaries must be developed and integrated into design education from the very beginning, embedding sustainability as a core principle of creative practice. This is where scholars, design practitioners, and freethinkers alike can channel their efforts."
