In-person evening with Cristobal Alonso

On January 16th 2025, we are excited to welcome Cristobal Alonso, CEO of Startup Wise Guys and General Partner in 7 of their VC funds under the SWG brand.

Startup Wise Guys, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia as well as Spain, with a particular focus on underserved markets in Europe and underserved founders globally.

Estonia, which has enjoyed an exceptional resurgence since the fall of the Soviet Union, became favorable ground for attracting and shepherding startups due to its tech savvy as well as playing host to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. Spain continues to hone its policies for facilitating startup growth, which has attracted both talent and investment opportunities.

Cristobal, or El Patron, as he is known, is himself a serial entrepreneur and 3 times CEO. He has written three bestselling books on Performance and leadership and is an Insead MBA, as well as former President of their Spanish Alumni Club as well as the Global Entrepreneurship Club. He is a former professional basketball player and proud and gregarious father and partner.

With Cristobal, we will talk about the competitive nature of the global markets for start-ups, an overview of the key players as well as VC feeder channels, and learn about how the market is evolving and what investment opportunities it will create in the future.

Please note that the event is free for HBS Club of Italy members in good standing for 2024. Alumni will also have the opportunity to pay the amount of €100 in advance for the 2025 membership and directly join the event. Each attending member can bring one guest for a fee of €25 to be paid in advance.

I acknowledge that my image may be captured in group shots or candid moments during the event, and I consent to the use of these images as described above without any compensation to me.

Furthermore, I release the HBS Club of Italy and its representatives from any liability arising from the use of these photographs and/or videos, including any claims for defamation, invasion of privacy, or infringement of rights.

I understood that if I do not wish to be photographed or videotaped during the event, it is my responsibility to notify the event organizers in advance and to avoid areas where photography and videography are taking place.
